DEUTERONOMY

n this Book the Israelites were camped just east of the Jordan River making preparations for crossing into Canaan.  These Israelites were a new generation, most of whom were not alive at the time of the exodus and the encampment at Sinai.  So Moses, by means of the speeches recorded here, provided them with a comprehensive review of everything that happened during the forty years in the wilderness.
