Learning Objectives are:
1. Learn about social work, DFS and legal concepts before and during adoption consideration: reunification, reasonable efforts, levels of care, least restrictive environment, diligent search, relative search, visitation plan, face to face monitoring, legally free, termination of parental rights, relinquishment.
2. Understand the federal laws and state laws used to support adoption. WY Title 1 and Title 14; tools and techniques; and what to avoid.
3. Understand other adoption concepts: Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance (ICAMA), how to find an adoptive family, Safe Haven, Educational Training Vouchers (ETV) for adopted youth, guardianship, putative father registry, confidential intermediary (CI) program, types of adoptions, etc.
