Flu season strikes early across America.and 6-8 states as of 12.27.2013  are beginning to report stomach flu; while others are reporting flu-like symptoms, resulting in the deaths of 4 of the 8 cases reported. This is in Montgomery county TEXAS. All 8 cases were tested for flu virus and tests were negative which indicated that  flu was not thecause of the respiratory illness. A near-by town of Austin, Texas reported a white powder coating their outdoor environment about the same time people began to experience respiratory problems. Officials went to a nearby cement plant to question them about a possible release of the white powdery substance from their vent stacks as a cause. The cement plant denied it was having any emissions that could be responsible for it. The residents are concerned because the powder on their car caused the clear coat applied to preserve their paint to peel off. He said he can only imagine what this can do to the lungs if it is this caustic to paint. An investigation by the state environmental quality control office is underway, but is expected to take 30 days before a determination can be returned as to what is coating the outdoors. http://www.khou.com/news/texas-news/229103131.html  LINK to mystery powder in Texas. http://www.news4sanantonio.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/mystery-illness-kills-4-texas-6668.shtml LINK to mystery illness in Texas. 12.17.2013
