Mekia S. Troy is the Athletic Director at Creekside High School in Fairburn, GA.  She has served at her high school alma mater for 19 years in roles as a teacher, department chair, and head coach prior to leading the athletic department.  She counts it an honor to pour back into the community in which she grew up.  She is the longest tenured AD in Fulton County Schools and looks forward to opportunities to help others.  She is a mentor in the district’s Aspiring AD program and a resource to many throughout the state who reach out for assistance.

Mekia graduated from Berry College in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, followed by a Masters of Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania in 2007.  A lifelong learner, she is currently a doctoral candidate in Sports Management at the United States Sports Academy.  Her passion for teaching life skills through athletics is the foundation of her dissertation research.  Mekia is a Certified Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and has been a workshop moderator at their national conference.  She is a member of the Georgia Athletic Directors Association and has been honored by the organization with multiple AD of the Year awards.  She is currently the secretary and treasurer leading the operations of the 8 member schools in Region 3-AAAAA.
