Tommy Brown graduate of Columbia High School in Columbia S.C. He was blessed to be a walkon

Athlete for South Carolina State College.  He became a 4 year starter, All Conference, Team Captain,

Black College All American, he was then selected to the All Century Team and South Carolina State

Hall of Fame.  He earned his Bachelor Degree from SCSU and later his Masters from Liberty University.

  His first coaching position was at Lincoln County High School in Lincolnton, Georgia, where he met

His first Coaching Mentor – Larry Campbell, who is the winningest coach in the state of Georgia.  He

 Went on to coach at 9 other high schools in both South Carolina and Georgia, where at 7 of those

Schools he was Head Coach.  He has actively been in the coaching profession for over 30 years and

Has spent over 15 of those years here at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.

     He has been Coach of the Year, assistant coach for the North vs South, assistant coach for the

Shrine Bowl, he was the Head Coach of the North vs South in 2009, and in 2013 Coach Brown

Was the Head Coach of the Shrine Bowl. He is only the 3rd Black Coach to be selected in the history

Of the game

Coach Brown believes that this has been his purpose in life and that is to mentor young men and

Women to be the best they can be, and he feels that God has driven him to teach athletes to be

Even Greater Winners in Life!!

His lovely and supported wife of 30 years is Mary Anne Nelson, they have one son, Courtney,

And two grand daughters, Ayana and Syra.

A member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he spiritually serves as an Usher and a Deacon
