Why the Proud & Privileged.
As African American writers, producers, and editors, if we don't tell our stories who will? Every African American is not a gang-banger, or a druggie, or poverty-stricken. There are many African Americans that are professionals, that are middle-class, and that are wealthy. They deserve to have their stories told also.
Lisa’s talent for creating and producing was recognized early in her life. In 2001 she graduated from the Illinois Center for Broadcast, where she majored in Radio and Television. She then became determined to make her dream of writing and producing an African American Daytime Drama a reality – and thus, the Proud and Privileged was born.
