USE YOUR GOD’S THOUGHTS NOT YOURS! Be powerful in God. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim.1:7). We have access to this when we believe God's word and obey God's word. As human we consider ourselves to be intelligent, thoughtful and logical. But, this may not line up with God’s intelligent, thoughtfulness, and His logic. Last week we talked about use your God sense not your good sense. This will keep you from falling into temptation. When you want to think through things think though it using the word of God as your base. Be willing to be obedient. Be willing to follow instructions. Be willing to listen to what God says. God tells you that old things are passed away, all behold things become new. You have to be exploratory to find out what He has new for you. Cannot reference all of your old habits, your old thoughts, your old ways, your old logic, your old remedies. Look for the newness and freshness that God brings to you. He said I will do a news thing. I will create water in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). So in the desolate of your life where there is no life, God said I will create life (Isaiah 40:28). We see this example in the book of Esther. Mordechai was the perfect example of following God, even above saving his own life. He will refuse the bow to Haman. So, because of that, not only was his life in danger, but all of the Jews. Haman wanted to annihilate all of the Jews. Then there was Esther whose life was God ordained for a specific purpose, at a specific time, to do a specific thing. At first she was going to do things her way. She had become comfortable being the queen. She allowed herself to think her thoughts and not God’s thoughts.. She finally came to the conclusion and thought to herself….let me spring up this well of newness in me and follow the Lord. She decided that she would go before the king. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
