We are cruising through the final days of January 2023, and this is our last show for the month of January but Caribbean Global Voices celebrates the end as well as it does the new beginning. The Saturday Morning Entertainment Show with Host, Ivor Henry will do just that. We will make a smooth transition from celebrating a Happy New Year to celebrating Black History Month as January flows out and February flows in. And we have lots to do and say. So lets greet, get excited, get inspired, share the fun and have a conversation. As we celebrate we would not forget that there is so much trouble in the world and many are grieving because of it.

So let's talk. When Black men die by the actions of law enforcement officers, it is usually white people killing unarmed Black people. It was revealed earlier this week that that 5 Black police officers in Memphis, TN, Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley Emmet Martin III, Justin Smith and Desmond Mills, Jr., were terminated after video footage revealed that they savagely beat Tyre Nicholls on Jan. 7, 2023. They have since been charged with kidnapping and murder among other offenses.

In Hialeah Fl. two police officers Rafael Otano and Lorenzo Orfila arrested a homeless illiterate man, Jose Ortega Guitierrez without cause took him to an isolated area and beat him into unconsciousness while he was still in handcuffs. Then they left him there to die. When Guitierrez woke up he went the police to make a complaint. A third officer, Ali Amin Saleh had him sign an affidavit saying that he was arrested for drunkenness and was not beaten. Will this kind of action ever end? Come in and join the conversation or let us know what you want to talk about. We will be happy to hear from you.
