Rev. Dr. Lesly Devereaux was licensed to preach at Mt. Zion AME Church, New Brunswick in 2006. A graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Howard University School of Lawwith a Juris Doctorate she practiced law for over 15 years and has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad in her professional capacity. With an irresistible desire to serve the Lord she entered New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 2007 where she earned a Master of Divinity degree (Suma Cum Laude); while in Seminary she became the first African American and first Woman to hold the position of Class President. Reverend Dr. Devereaux was ordained an Itinerate Elder at the 140thSession of the New Jersey Annual Conference in Atlantic City New Jersey. In 2013 she received her Doctor of Ministry Degree with her thesis entitled, Leading with Ministry in Mind: Empowering Church Leaders to Move From Task to Ministry Through Spiritual Discernment.

 

Dr. Devereaux has an abiding commitment to the church and the academy. Relating with ease to both venues and using her influence to mentor individuals seeking to gain a closer relationship with God. She preaches and facilitates workshops in a variety of venues. Dr. Devereaux has additional publicationswritten to inspire and encourage all individuals who have faced challenges in their life. Daily Devotionalentitled, On This Day Remember: What God Does Not want You to Forget and a book entitled, Breaking Codependency: How to Navigate the Traps that Sabotage Your Life.
