Nancy W. Sindelar, Ph.D. is the author of Influencing Hemingway:  The People and Places That Shaped His Life and Work and has made many popular presentations about the life and work of Ernest Hemingway.  In June, 2011 and 2013 she presented at the International Colloquium Ernest Hemingway in Havana, Cuba, in May, 2014 she spoke at the American Literature Association Conference in Washington, DC,  in June, 2014, she spoke at the Hemingway Society Conference in Venice and in September, 2014, she was the keynote speaker at the Hemingway Festival in Sun Valley, ID.

In 2015 she is scheduled to speak at the American Library in Paris, the American Literature Association Conference in Boston, the Hemingway Colloquium in Havana, and keynote the Michigan Hemingway Society Conference. In 2016 she will keynote the Hemingway Days Festival in Key West, FL and lead a walking tour featuring the homes and favorite sites of young Hemingway at the Hemingway Society Conference in Oak Park, IL. She is a board member of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park and teaches Hemingway: The Man, The Writer, The Legend at University of California, Riverside. 

Sindelar’s presentations are energized by her passion for all things Hemingway, her research into his private letters, his fiction and non-fiction, and her extensive travel to and knowledge of the locales that were important to the writer.  She has stood in the bedroom where Hemingway was born and the foyer where he ended his life and has visited all the places in between.
