Twice a month John and Pete get together to discuss the role of relgion in today's world. Listen in for interesting conversation about how religion works, what it can and can't do and how  it is trying to keep a foothold in society today.

Pete Peters and John Maher are going to talk about "where good things run wild" this morning.   Here is what we want to talk about:

1. Many people think of organized religion (any religion) as confining, judgmental and life-draining

2. The purpose of structure and order in the church (the system with which I am familiar) is to release life

3. G.K.Chesterton's full quote:  “The more I considered Christianity, the more I found that while it has established
a rule and order, the chief aim of that order is to let good things run wild.

4. Church order as it was intended to be will release good things in the community to the extent that those good
things run wild through our homes, neighborhoods, cities, places of work, sports teams, etc. etc.

5. Some signs:

     a. hungry people are fed

     b. lonely people gain friends

     c. sick people are cared for and healed

     d. damaged relationships are reconciled

     e. all people, no matter what they believe or religious affiliation they have, are treated with dignity and respect

     f. each person can grow into what they were created to be

    g. each community can fully become what it was founded to become
