Most HBCUs today are facing an uphill struggle to stay open.  The HBCU college presidency, once considered to be the most presitigious occupation in the African American community, is now seen by many as a career land mine, where even the slightest misstep can be a career terminator.  As the "best and the brightest" African American scholars are increasing being recruited, with "full-ride" lucrative four-year scholarships, by historically "white" colleges and universities, some are even questioning the need for HBCUs, except as a place to try to educate those that need special remediation as scholars. We invite everyone to join us as we discuss the question of "Why does the African American Community need the HBCUs to continue to survive, and to prosper, in the 21st Century?". Rather than have a panel of experts discuss this issue, we encourage everyone to join in and let us all hear what you think. Join us at 9:00 PM Eastern Time.
