Call in to speak with the host
Benn Perry is my guest for this evening. Benn has a diversified life as an author, actor, singer, and voiceover for commercials. He helped pioneer the credit counseling industry as the National Director of Credit Counselors Corporation (CCC) from 1975 through 2002 - during which time he helped thousands of individuals and families get out of debt.
He frequently testified as an expert witness in litigation involving debtor/creditor relations and appeared as a studio guest on national television programs that include Good Morning America, The 700 Club, The Oprah Winfrey Show and was featured in Time, Ladies' Home Journal and Self magazines to name a few.
His book Escape from the Plastic Prison the quintessential guide to getting yourself out of debt; it is an indictment of the credit card industry in general and its collection and counseling operatives specifically. In unrelenting fashion the author makes a no-holds-barred run at an industry that was once considered benevolent and concerned for the welfare of its debtor clients; pulling few punches a he paints detailed pictures of the shadiest characters involved. Benn also has two other books available, Braindrops and Stuff We Share With Strangers.
Benn has appeared in a number of theater productions, and his videos can be seen on his website at www.BennPerry.com.
