The bike lane program, now in its 21st year in existence, was the brain child of former Mayor Richard M. Daley who nurtured and guided the project to its present dimensions and first articulated the goal of Chicago becoming known as the most bike-friendly city in the nation.  Mayor Rahm Emanuel has picked up that mantle and enthusiastically advanced this cause in his first year in office.

BIKE IN THE FAST LANE CHICAGO is both challenged by that ambition and committed to the idea’s realization. Toward that end, BIKE IN THE FAST LANE CHICAGO will work with the City of Chicago and biking groups throughout the Chicagoland area to raise awareness of and appreciation for this wondrous and winding system of interlocking lanes, paths and trails.

Today, Blogger and Biker discuss "Kidical Mass," a bi-monthly mass bike ride for children (aged 16 and under).
