Actor/producer/writer Layon Gray (AUDELCO awarded Black Angels Over Tuskegee, All American Girls, Cayenne Pepper) and actresses Kimberlee Monroe (Ain't Supposed To Die A Natural Death, The Winter View)  and Latonia Antoinette (The Colored Museum and With Aaron's Arms Around Me), talk with host Deardra Shuler about All American Girls, a play about a Negro Women's Baseball League in 1945 Chicago, who assembled to play an exhibition game against the all-white reigning champions, Rockford Peaches.  The play depicts the challenges, racism, and courage it took for these women to play ball. The cast consists of Alaina Dunn, Anedra D. Johnson, Ashley Nicole Jeffrey, Celestine Rae, Jillian Walker, Kris Sidberry, Latonia Antoinette, Noelle Lusane, Teniece Divya Johnson, and Kimberlee Monroe. The play will run for 2 nights, July 26th and 27th, at 8pm at The Actors Temple Theatre. located at 339 W.47th St. (b/w 8th & 9th) in midtown Manhattan. It will also be featured at the National Black Theatre Festival in August 2011. The play garnered a  2006 NAACP Award.  Mr. Gray has personally received an Artistic Director Achievement Award and MatchLife Artist of the Year Award. A film of the play The Girls of Summer is in development. A Layon Gray Experience brings forth yet untold African American stories in both film & play form, in ways never depicted.  His goal is to enligthen, uplift and inspire audiences from both an historic perspective and personal revelation.
