Host Deardra Shuler talks with actress Kim Yancey-Moore who is reprising her role as Dr. May Chinn, the first African American female doctor on the Harlem Hospital ambulatory emergency crew, at the Seaport Salon. She appeared in the “Convergence” series. Her New Federal Theatre performances include Rula in “Every Goodbye Ain’t Gone,” also Queen Isabella in “Christopher Columbus,” and Martha Pentecost in “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” Kim's extensive NY theatre credits include performances at the Mitzi Newhouse Theatre at Lincoln Center, the Public, American Place Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Judith Anderson Theatre on Theatre Row, NEC, CSC Repertory Theatre and the Roundabout Theatre. Her TV credentials include Beneatha in the American Playhouse Production of “A Raisin in the Sun” directed by Bill Duke. Play is featured at Manhattan’s Shooting Star Theater (40 Peck Slip, South Street Seaport). It runs Friday, April 30th through Sunday, May 23rd.
