Program Theme: Black History Celebration

Program Title: Disarming Self-Sabotage

“Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn’t happen.” –- Alyce P. Cornyn-Selbyauthor, speaker and internally recognized master on the subject of self-sabotage

“Whether at work, at home or in public, we have been trained to believe that who we are at the core of our being is often unacceptable. As a result, we work diligently to live up to - and sometimes down to - what others have made us out to be, whether or not it is an accurate reflection of who we are.”  --Iyanla Vanzant

On Wisdom Walk this week, Jojopah is joined by her friend and colleague Ms. Carmen Ray, who will guest co-host for the entire month.  Tonight, in celebration of Black History Month, Jojopah and Carmen will discuss how descendants of historical trauma can stay loyal to the suffering by unconsciously repeating it in new forms.  Focusing on Self-Sabotage as one of the most common ways it shows up, Carmen will share her personal story of discovering and disarming her self-destructive behavior in order to become a successful social entrepreneur and radical networking professional.
