Tracyann Williams is the Director of Academic Advising in the School of Undergraduate Studies at The New School. She is also an Instructor of Literature, offering courses since 1998 in African American studies, gender studies, and literature. She also taught Composition and Literature at LaGuardia College/CUNY for several years. She has received numerous awards and recognition including the Distinguished University Teaching Award from The New School in 2004 and a Helena Rubenstein Foundation fellowship. Her current research focuses on mixed race women in modern fictions.
