The Philadelphia Eagles are on MONDAY NIGHT in Week 2, but before we preview the game we give our thoughts on the escalating Ray Rice firestorm that has broken out since the TMZ video went viral on Monday.

As for the game, the retooled Eagles offensive line will have their first test Monday night when they visit the Indianapolis Colts. Left guard Evan Mathis will be out until at least Week 8 with an MCL sprain, while Lane Johnson's backup, Allen Barbre, will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.  The Birds had the same offensive line for all 17 games last season, including the postseason.

Indianapolis, meanwhile, struggled to generate pressure against the Denver Broncos in their 30-23 loss last Sunday and the news got worse Monday when it was learned that the NFL's reigning sack leader, Robert Mathis, will miss the year after rupturing his Achilles while working out in Atlanta. Mathis was suspended the first four games this season for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

The Bitter Birds discuss this and a whole lot more ...
