Dr Florence Alexander

Dr. Florence Alexander, Ph. D. started Ebon Research Systems in 1971 in the basement of her home, with only a manual typewriter.  Overcoming many hurdles of racism, sexism and “bullying”, she drew on her inner strengths and internalized a standard of excellence in reaching seemingly impossible goals. Ebon Research Systems, a sole proprietorship that employed more than 1,500 full-time staff in 50 states and 3 foreign countries, grossed more than $417 million dollars in sales in its first twenty-four years of operation.  Dr. Alexander’s entrepreneurial journey took her into the minefields of Federal government contracting and through the challenging terrain of education as founder of her private boarding school as her way of “giving back”.  Ebon International Preparatory Academy was purchased in 1994 by Dr. Alexander with her personal funds to provide a debt-free campus consisting of 17 buildings on 44 pristine acres in Forsyth, Georgia for disenfranchised youth. Today, graduates of Ebon Academy are physicians, engineers, educators, and many others professionals.  The school boasts of an entrepreneur who has a doctorate degree, is a Millionaire real estate mogul, and the owner of several schools; he emulated the Alexanders and made his mark in private enterprise.
