TOPIC:  761st Tank Batallion The 761st Tank Battalion was an independent tank battalion of the United States Army during World War II. The 761st was made up primarily of African-American soldiers, who by federal law were not permitted to serve alongside white troops; the military did not officially desegregate until after World War II. They were known as the Black Panthers after their unit's distinctive insignia; their motto was "Come out fighting".

GUEST:  GrandMixer DXT

GrandMixer DXT is a musician and DJ who is set apart from the rest in musical innovation. In his early career, DXT was the main DJ at the number one club in NYC, The Roxy! DXT is best known for using the turntable and operating it as a musical instrument. He was the first musician and DJ to perform this particular feat, making the Technics brand the most familiar name in the music industry. His mentor Herbie Hancock coined the phrase "turntablism" when referring to the technique GrandMixer DXT uses.  

This innovation changed how DJ's and musicians create and produce music, and earned GrandMixer DXT earned a spot on the Grammy Awards stage in 1984. This is the year DXT, Herbie Hancock and the Rockit Band received a Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance. In more recent years, GrandMixer DXT has been inducted into the Guitar Center Rock Walk of Fame in 2014 for his contributions to the music industry.
