About Yvette Obiefule

It was very early on in Yvette’s career, when she got the opportunity to open up for Cedric the Entertainer and it was this chance of a life time introduced and exposed her to the next level in comedy. That experience gave her great encouragement and she decided then that being a hairstylist had to take a back seat to her ultimate dream of becoming a professional stand-up comedienne. 

Yvette discovered her niche in doing prop-style comedy. The unique blend of prop-style comedy and traditional comedy was a guaranteed hit. Many referred to her as the “Black “Carrot Top”. After several years in the business, Yvette’s hard work starts to pay off, gracing the stage with such artist as Mike Epps, Katt Williams, Luenelle, Michael Colyar, Jay Anthony Brown, and Eddie Griffin to name a few. Yvette has spent the last 18 years hosting and performing live stand-up from coast to coast and parts of Europe. She has been on Prank My Mom, BET Comic View, Showtime at the Apollo, Live in Hollywood, the Kings Gesture a local cable sketch comedy show and hundreds of venues including both State and Federal prison. 

Yvette was the recipient of the 2009 Funniest Female Comedian award presented by veteran comedian Jay Anthony Brown. Yvette was also the winner of the 2008 Mic Awards for Best Comedian defeating comics Katt Williams, Luenelle, and Derek Ellis and in 2011, Yvette won a spot to perform on the ever popular Tom Joyner 7 day cruise where she brought the house to tears in laughter!  
 
In addition to Yvette’s busy performance schedule, she hosts “What’s So Damn Funny” a very entertaining, comedy driven on line radio show based in Los Angeles, CA.
