TAKING A WIFE IN A FOREIGN LAND: Another significant thing to note here is that when Isaac blesses Jacob he tells him to find a wife in Mesopotamia among his mother’s relatives. The reason I focused on this because the relationship between Isaac and Jacob in this particular situation is representative of Isaac as God the Father and Jacob Jesus as God the Son. Jacob is sent by his father to a foreign land to get a wife just as Jesus was sent by His Father from heaven to this earth to take for Himself a wife.
