Beyond Abuse Radio: Empowerment, Part 6 Verbal Empowerment

Abuse almost always begins with verbal disempowerment.  It can also be ended there with the right tools.  Too often, people who are abused as children never learn the confidence and verbal skills to disarm a potential abuser.  

Our guest, Dennis Golden, is the founder of IM-Safe, an organization that trains girls and women to move beyond vulnerability and know what to do and say to be safe.  He will be sharing tools and ideas to help us to neutralize individuals who are becoming verbally aggressive and deescalate an argument.  Through these tools, we can gain the confidence to act out of a sense of power and empowerment instead of fear and confusion.

As a certified self-defense instructor and personal security specialist, Dennis travels nationally and internationally, as a member of the National Speakers Association delivering keynote addresses and workshops on the topic of personal safety for women. Thousands of women have attended 90-minute workshops offered by IM-SAFE.
