This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.
Tonight we discuss the topic of patent trolls and their newest potential victim, Adam Carolla. Patent trollers are organizations that buy abandoned patents and then sue anyone that infringes upon the same. One of the best known operations is called Personal Audio. Personal Audio is in the news claiming that podcasting itself violates a patent they hold. Personal Audio has sued three podcasters, including Adam Carolla's "ACE Broadcasting” for violating their patent.
