Austin Jeremiah Small (born September 21, 1991), is better known by his stage name, Medallion. An up-and-coming artist, and one to watch, Medallion hails from the west side of Chicago. Austin is a producer, writer, singer, rapper, drummer and pianist. He discovered his love for music at a very early age. While growing up, he played the drums and keyboard for his  mother church choir. In 2007, he began a career as an independent artist, making his own beats. From there, he wrote and produced an unreleased album/mixtape. Medallion's talent and love for music caught the attention of his now manager/mentor, Jeff Dollaz. Realizing Medallion's ambition, Dollaz quickly put him in the studio, where he began recording his first EP, Ghetto Poetry. Medallion is very passionate about his music and believes in taking his time to produce only the best music. People often say that he makes soulful music; and he keeps the Chicago sound alive. He has called himself "the new Jordan of Chicago". In addition to that, Medallion can also be quoted saying: "most of these rappers sounding like the south...I'm what y'all all been missing".
