In episode, one I defined stress as “Your perceived inability to control something you want to control.” I shared a basic explanation of behavior based on Perceptual Control Theory. I gave you three questions to help increase your sense of Well-BEing. In episode two, I focused on your physical environment and in particular creating a space the feeds, your five senses as well as taking time to savor your sensory experiences by being mindful. Last week in episode three, we reflected on thinking and thought patterns. I shared some red flag phrases and asked you to engage in more metacognition.
This week’s show explores feelings. What are your thoughts about feelings? Can you control your feelings? What’s the relationship between your feelings and your actions?
In English we use the word ‘feel’ to express three different things. So when someone says’ “I feel…” what do they mean? Johnathan Martensson wrote “Feelings are much like waves, we can’t stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf.” Get an emotional surf lesson by taking thirty minutes and listening to the show.
