Thanks to articles in ‘Pieces of the Past’ by Dr. Rebecca Tortello we have increased our knowledge of the true meaning of our motto: Out of many one People”. This week we continue the exploration by focusing on the Lebanese and their contributions to the cultural mix, from the time of their arrival in the 19th century until today. Like some of the other cultures, the Lebanese came to Jamaica of their own free will. The Labrish continues in the BackYard as we explore the many reasons they chose Jamaica and how that decision has enriched the Jamaican culture. Join us as we continue to: Celebrate, Enlighten & Preserve the rich diverse culture of Jamaica: LandWe Love”.
