Recently we explored the contributions of Jamaican women to the history and culture of Jamaica. This week we continue the discussion with a focus on the women of the 20th century and their impact on Jamaican women of the 21st century. We will discuss the upcoming Women’s Empowerment Luncheon: : Gain Inspiration to Achieve Lifestyle Success. This fundraising event is designed for women working towards their personal and professional goals, and is Co-Hosted by St. Hugh’s High School Alumnae Association (SHHSAA) & Queens Atlanta Alumnae (QAAC), Featured specialized speakers include former 1st Lady of Jamaica and St. Hughs’ alumna- Mrs. Beverley Manley: Expert in the Field of Self-Actualization Jackie Woods: and CEO of Empowered Enterprises – Means Davis Join me in the labrish as we explore, with the current secretary of SHHSAA - Ms. Sharon Marks, the contributions of the Alumnae associations to their alma maters and their expectations of the next generation of women in Jamaica.
