Hollywood's impact on SLAVERY & CIVIL RIGHTS

In society as we know it. The media has found various ways to depict the stories and lives of the "MOORS" past & present. However they seem to love to give us their take on "African-American" history during SLAVERY & CIVIL RIGHTS ERAS. Often we are mislead with half truths and what they think we should consider an honorable ancestry. Though we have prevailed over many disadvantages and injustices theses images of slavery and civil rights seem to plague our society as if our history doesnt stem beyond or pre date slavery..

The question is with the repetition of these stories in modern films, how do these movies manipulate our sub conscious and way of life today?
