Birth Mother Matters in Adoption Episode 57:  Adoption Case Manager Interview

One of our own opens up and takls about what it is really like being an adoption case manager.  Sarah is a case worker who has an extensive social worker background and her perspective on working in the adiotion field is both educational and inspiring.

Sarah is an adoptive family case worker who has worked in many different fields of social work from Juvenile probation to mental health.  Sarah was born and raised in Montana before heading south to Arizona in 2018. Building Arizona Families’ mission statement drew her out of retirement and back into working as a social worker for the agency. Sarah graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Montana with a degree in social work and criminal justice.  Adoption is a specialized field in the social work sector, so many people who join our growing community do not know the intricacies that adoption holds.  Adoption is like its own island in a sense, we have our own language, acronyms, our own philosophies and yet we all follow and adhere to the same adoption laws; both state and federal.
