Join me as I speak to Christopher Reich about his current international spy thriller THE TAKE - featuring Simon Riske: one part James Bond, one part Jack Reacher.
Christopher Reich is the New York Times bestselling author of financial thrillers including Numbered Account, Rules of Deception, Rules of Vengeance, Rules of Betrayal, The Devil’s Banker. His novel The Patriots Club won the International Thriller Writers award for Best Novel in 2006. He lives in San Diego, California.
In his own words, Chris says, "I was born in Tokyo, Japan on November 12, 1961. We moved back to the States in 1965 and settled in Los Angeles...After graduating from high School, I hightailed it back east to Georgetown University, where I attended the School of Foreign Service. Holding both a Swiss and American passport, and having spent nearly every summer abroad, I thought the school would be ideal for me and I was right. My time in DC was among the most stimulating in my life. I did graduate with honors in history, earning the W. Coleman Nevils Gold Medal for outstanding student in the field of Diplomatic History.'
Business school at the U of Texas came next where "I remember seeing the movie “Wall Street” and thinking that Gordon Gekko was the hero! Boy, did I want to make money. We all did. Looking back, it was kind of scary." That was followed by interviews on Wall Street, which never happened. Plan B was a move to Geneva Switzerland (his father is Swiss) and a job at the Union Bank of Switzerland. On his second day at work he found the inspiration for his 1st novel, Numbered Account.
