Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcome author/jounalist SHANE GERICKE to tonight's show.  At age 7, Santa delivered my first typewriter, a heavy, clunky, and absolutely glorious rocket ship to the moon. I’ve been writing ever since.I spent 25 years as a newspaper editor and reporter, writing about everything from football games to Liberace concerts to a bearded local nudist who ran for President.I left my guaranteed newspaper paycheck for the heady world of crime fiction..After writing two manuscripts that never did sell, I wrote Blown Away, intending it to be a little cop drama set in the suburbs of Chicago..Blown Away was named debut mystery of the year by RT Book Reviews, and hit the Barnes & Noble national bestseller list. (Later on, it became a No. 1 bestseller on Kindle.) I followed that with Cut to the Bone, then Torn Apart,  I help run the ThrillerFest literary conference in New York City and its PitchFest author-agent match program.
