There are many health problems pets face that can be avoided through preventative care.  For example, obesity is often the catalyst for diabetes, joint pain, digestive issues, heart disease and more. Simply providing species appropriate nutrition in the form of real food, not processed foods with loads of fillers, chemicals and flavorings, is key in keeping a pet's ideal weight.

On this episode of Healthy Pet HQ with Jodi Z, Dr. Patrick Mahaney and host Jodi Ziskin will discuss the importance of preventative care, steps to take and how being proactive instead of reactive can potentially save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars over your fur baby's lifetime.

Topics to be covered include diet; important supplements, like omega-3s and probiotics; oral care; exercise; mental stimulation; maintaining a healthy weight; managing inflammation; and more.

Wendy Diamond will also be joining us to discuss K9s For Warriors, which rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to be service dogs for veterans with PTSD & Traumatic Brain Injury.

Stay tuned after the segment for another Cat Fact and Doggie Do!
