The Germ is a book about a young girl named Ruby who witnesses a report of local racially based police brutality on the television news. As a result, she feels confusion and anxiety and turns to her family for answers and support. The Germ gently discusses racism, multiculturalism and tolerance without blaming or shaming any race.
