WHAT IS UP WITH THESE NEW HIPHOP AND R&B ARTIST?

What is up with these new hip-hop and R&B artist? I often tune into the radio on my phone, and I often find myself saying what is this song about? Yet the same track I do not understand and is capable of comprehending. Seems to be the one getting mad play. I remember albums in the 90’s when an artist would have to come with something hot to get his project pushed on the streets. A verse would have to make sense and not just make sense but also at the same time, be that fire. Now it’s like artist are going into the studio dropping low class material but with a hot beat. Where is music going? So many legends have spent lifetimes building hip-hop and R&B into what it has become. Now is this the end with this next generation of musicians?
