When's the last time you saw a movie about the antiques business? That's what I thought. I can't recall ever seeing one myself, so I was jazzed when I stumbled across aspiring screenwriter/movie producer Chris McCallion. Chris has written a screenplay based on the antiques business called, "Mothballs". It's a comedy based on Chris's observations of life in the antiques business and it sounds like a blast! He has entered the movie in several festivals and placed 2nd in the Southern Fried Flicks Festival. He divulged a little bit of the plot to me, but you'll have to listen to the interview to find out what it's all about. There's a link below this article to the audio interview. Chris is premiering the movie this Friday evening September 5th, 2008 in Brimfield MA at Quaker Acres, 6pm. Spot 14. If your anywhere near the central MA town of Brimfield and you have an interest in the antiques trade, I hope you come join us for a free screening of this movie. To me people like Chris are the very essence of what the antique trade is all about, a passion for what your doing and a driving independent spirit. So why not come by and support a fellow dealer and indie movie producer. I'll have a follow up interview with Mr. McCallion on Friday and I'll let you know how the movie was received. Thanks for reading. AW
