We are an active participant when we listen, ask, talk, hear, feel, see, sense and most of all just KNOW the answer. Whatever you think Angels are, or aren't, I can tell you this : after a lifetime of having them near me, protecting me, talking to me since I can remember, even learning about them in later life- Angels can transform any situation you are in. I don't know how they do it, I just know that everything changes, and sometimes, it happens and nothing outwardly has changed at all, but they have sent their loving messages outward to all involved.
