Formed in 1993, Faith And The Muse is Monica Richards, who got her start in the DC scene before fronting Strange Boutique, and William Faith (Christian Death, Shadow Project, Mephisto Walz). Their first two albums, Elyria and Annwyn, Beneath the Waves are considered highly influential in the development of darkwave. Their music fuses many different elements together including rock, world, classical, and jazz. Their last album, The Burning Season, was released in 2003. : ankoku butoh : the sixth album from Faith And The Muse is an Asian influenced journey taking the listener from uprising to serenity. The use of Taiko drums and orchestral arrangements adds new depth to their work, but the infusion of organic instrumentation also finds them using the most strings since their ground breaking Elyria. Enjoyed in sequence : ankoku butoh : is like a movie made of music. The tracks “Battle Hymn” and “Blessed” are stand-alone anthems.
