Today we are fortunate to be able to listen to the “Earth Music” of Stuart De Usoz and hear him talk about his work, among other things as bandleader of group "SHAMAN" – which performed "Earth Music" to heal and inspire. Stuart De Usoz (day oo-sews) (USOZ, also known as Brahm Stuart and Abrahm "Abe" Stuart, grew up in New Orleans where he learned to play folk and blues guitar from early age. He has been a street musician and a merchant marine, playing in New Orleans, Austin, Boulder, Berkeley, Eugene, Seattle, Rainbow Gatherings, Nashville, Ashville, Philadelphia, New York, London, Dublin, Cork, Paris, Lyons, Barcelona, Madrid; Merchant marine (able bodied seaman) - Gulf of Mexico, Red Sea, Indian Ocean, Caribbean, Atlantic. When he bought his first fiddle in 1984, he went straight to Ireland to learn to play, then NYC where he played fiddle with Celtic rock group, The Clan, East Coast, Chicago, Los Angeles. 1990 - 1996 Bandleader of group "SHAMAN" (trademarked) played around New York City, Eclectic Folk Rock specializing in Celtic Rock core sound along with New Orleans, New Age, Middle Eastern and Medieval sounds. Called music "Earth Music" to describe vision to create "music to heal and inspire". Was a regular at the then popular New York City "Wetlands Preserve", an environmental activism/earth-conscious theme rock club where began the Blues Travelers and other bands. Highlights: Playing for the Open Center 20th Anniversary at the United Nations with Ram Dass; Headlining Starwood Festival in Western New York with the very much alive Timothy Leary; Played at many Earth Day festivals, Pagan festivals, Church groups, librarys, fund raisers and music clubs in the Northeast, including gigs at Irish bars in the Bronx, Queens and Yonkers.
