Miko & Carolyn, the husband and wife duo known as Taniq, was formed as a band in the winter of Chicago 2000. Taniq’s debut album “The Life & Times of Love” has been called “a modern-day masterpiece in Soul music” by Soultracks.com (America’s #1 Soul music website). Their song “Sunrise” was listed in the top 100 Best R&B Song entries for the 2009 Grammy Awards. Taniq’s music has been featured in the film “American Violet” starring academy-award nominated Alfre Woodard and Michael O’Keefe, ABC Family’s Lincoln Heights, the award-winning film and soundtrack Truth Hall, and on the Stevie Wonder-owned radio station KJLH in LA. They are recipients of the ASCAP PLUS Award for songwriters and they signed a publishing deal with Missing Link Music for their outstanding songwriting ability. Not only are they incredible artists, but Taniq also has an incredible heart to serve. They are actively involved with H.O.P.E.’s House Christian Ministries volunteering for ministries including a convalescent home, homeless shelter, children’s Sunday school, and a ministry for arts & entertainment professionals.
