"Believe" is not intellectual assent; rather, it is taking God at His word even when your inclinations and circumstances compel you in the opposite direction.  Is Matthew 6:33 just a platitude?  A direction for other people in the past ... or perhaps the way things will be at some time in the future?  Or are we supposed to believe it, obey it, and bank on it TODAY?
