Not every draft prospect takes the same road to the NFL. Some go to the SEC, others come from off the beaten path. Today’s guest - known as “The Vanilla Gorilla” - Blaine Sumner played his college football at DII Colorado School of Mines. Sumner started his college career as an undersized prospect and now checks in at 6’2” and 330 pounds with the 2010 Raw Squat American Record (805 pounds) under his belt. Sumner was a first team All-RMAC selection, first team NFF All-Colorado selection and third team Don Hansen All-Super Region Three selection. As a senior he registered 32 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three passes defended, two fumble recoveries and led the team with three blocked kicks, adding 6.5 tackles for a loss. The defensive lineman also can carry the football, finishing second on the club with four rushing touchdowns on 10 carries. Hosted by Bo Marchionte.
