In the first hour Jason Lawrence will interview Young Adult fiction author, Ms. Kendare Blake. According to Kendare she writes horror, mythology and dark fantasy novels. Her most famous work - so far - includes Anna Dressed in Blood, which was a Kirkus 2011 Top Ten and NPR 2011 Top 5 pick, and is being developed for film by Stephenie Meyer's Fickle Fish Films. However, her latest publications are the Goddess War series, which include Antigoddess and its sequel Mortal Gods, both of which follow dying Greek gods in the present day and the teenagers whose lives they ruin, teens who just happen to be reincarnations of great Trojan heroes.

In the second hour Bonnie Marlewski-Probert hosts the Writer's Block Segment where we discuss some of the challenges faced by writers.  Bonnie will interview Jim Pendleton about his WWII book, The Special. Jim is now tackling a much bigger project… a series that focuses on the tensions that existed between world powers in the 1930s and 40s. What is so interesting about Jim's work is that while his stories focus on the events of WWII and the world at that time in history, they are really about  relationships,  love, and people coming together and learning to understand each other better.

Among his challenges are determining how many books there will be in the series, framing up what will be covered in each of the books and creating a story arc that will run throughout. Jim's challenges are the same as those of any artist who takes a blank canvas and creates something memorable from that blank canvas.
