Sonship. You are not an orphan.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

We are not alone in this world.  Though we are in this world we are not of it.  Christ died so that we may be reconciled back to God.  That means we all have the invitation of salvation extended to us from the cross of Calvary.  The blood of Jesus forever sings the sweet melody of " Oh come to the altar, The Father's arms are open wide.  Forgiveness was granted unto you with the precious blood of Jesus Christ."  

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 

We have solid proof that we are the sons of God once we surrender to God's will, repent, turn from sin and follow after Christ. Romans 8:16 bears witness to this.  "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."
