Shutting Down The Gov Is What Democrats Wanted from Day 1

Democrats will not let Republicans gut or delay Obamacare — or concede an inch to the GOP despite the ramifications of a shutdown. Democrats are looking at the larger picture; if they don't refuse all negeociations with the Republicans, then how would the Democrats get what they are ultimately after, and that is to raise the debt ceiling.   

Republicans are just six seats away from returning to power in the Senate — so any misstep by the Democrats could hurt vulnerable senators in red states. so seemingly reducing Republicans to child like status in the American People's eyes is what the Democrats see as their only hope.
