When we think of Black Wall Street, our minds immediately race to Tulsa, Oklahoma in the early 1920s. And while Tulsa is a great example of a Black Wall Street, contrary to what we’re told, there were tens if not hundreds of Negroes that flourished in cities across America before and even during Jim Crow. Historians have sought to minimize the impact of Black Wall Streets throughout America, but some of us know better.
