Brooklyn, N.Y. born and Virginia Beach native, Rina Chanel, has captivated audiences through R&B, soul, jazz, swing, pop, and ensemble and opera performance experiences.

Rina fuses her smooth R&B vocals with various R&B era instrumental backings that highlight her unique sound and blend the best elements of Jazz and R&B. Her skillful songwriting and vocal delivery provide a refreshing classic take on the return of the future of R&B music.

Through a strong foundation of music education, Rina developed classical proficiency and dexterity; learning to sing in French, German, Italian, and Czech from attending The Governor’s School for the Arts (Norfolk, VA) and attending Radford University on a voice scholarship.

Rina studied voice and performed background vocals for International Recording Indie R&B and Jazz Artist Tracy Hamlin. In 2017, she was a featured artist on Baltimore producer Raymond Barton’s EP “If Only for Love” performing the track “Don’t Give Up on Love.” In 2019, Rina sang lead and female vocals with the “Groove Factor” band in Virginia with fellow bandmate and bass player, Bennie Pearce.

Rina’s debut single “Worthy” was released in January 2020. 

Ms. Chanel teamed up again with producer Bennie Pearce (Phillie-BOP Productions) and songwriter Shawnee Crudup to co-write her follow-up single “Made,” released in September  2020.

Rina’s latest single “More than Enough” is co-written by herself and was released in September  2020. The newest single for 2021 is called 'Sweetest of Melody' just been released recently, will be played on air during the interview.
