Tygressa was born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She found her voice and love for music at a very young age, singing at home with her mom and four older siblings. “Music was always in our home.” She grew her talent and honed her craft of performing throughout grade school chorus, neighborhood talent showcases, and later found herself a SINGER/SONGWRITER three-time contestant and two-time, first place winner at Amateur Night at The World Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. Also known for her sultry yet soulful styled tribute show, Tygressa Sings Natalie…Remembering Natalie Cole, a tribute, Tygressa, and the Natalie Cole Tribute Band captivates audiences repeatedly and have performed on notable stages, such as the historic and legendary Blues Alley, Birchmere Music Hall, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and more. Fort Washington, Maryland – Singer/Songwriter, Tygressa Jones “Tygressa” is thrilled to announce the release of her new EP, ‘Tygressa – A Minute with You,’ also The EP’s single, ‘Hey You (A Minute with You)’  A Minute with You’ is a four-song EP comprised of three original tracks with lyrics written and performed (all vocals) by the singer/songwriter and one cover song originally written by record producer, the late Marvin Yancey and singer/songwriter Charles (“Chuck”) Jackson for nine-time Grammy Award Winner, the late Natalie Cole. This EP is classified as R&B music that grooves, but also speaks to the good and not-so-good feelings of love.
