James Watkins

AKA Chucky James


 

Born in Greenville, SC. Chucky James came from a background of Music. His grandmother played Organ, His uncle toured with Peabo Bryson, and Moses Dillard, and the Text town display Band. As a young boy after seeing the Jackson Five on The Ed Sullivan show it was then he wanted to be in Music, and performance. Chucky was choose to be in one of the upstate choir, and was choose to attend the Greenville Fine Arts Center. While in High School. He took some Guitar lessons, But is a self taught  Guitarist. I started writing Songs at a very young age of 14 or 15. But It wasn’t until the age of 17 He wrote this very song, that caught the ear of his Uncle “Don’t Come Smiling Back” which was recorded by a group called The Al-dos Band feathering His Uncle on Vocals, Which was never released publicly. Chucky’s debut CD Simply Chuck is now being updated for second release this fall or early winter on Itunes, and other outlets. Some updated can now be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/sounnice2006, Lacking CBS Radio exposure, Chucky believes he can cross over to mainstream radio.
